Everything you need to know about Answerplz

Supported platforms

answerplz supports macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon, Linux x86-64, and Windows. Intel Macs, phones, and tablets are not currently supported.

Getting Started

Answerplz is a discreet, screen-side AI assistant. Here's how to get started:

1. Download the App: Grab the latest desktop client from our homepage for your operating system.
2. Create an Account: Sign in to receive 60 free credits each month. No card is required.
3. Generate a Token: Go to your Dashboard and generate a new Desktop Token.
4. Login to Desktop: Open the Answerplz desktop app and paste your token to securely link your account.
5. Ask Away: Click answer plz on the overlay, or choose Answer now from the system tray to capture your screen and get an instant answer.

The Free Plan

Every free account includes 60 AI credits per month, usually enough for about 10–12 screenshot answers. You get the full browser and desktop experience, and no credit card is required.

• Your allowance refreshes one month after the current free-credit period begins.
• Unused free credits do not roll over into the next month.
• Upgrading switches usage to your paid credit pool without deleting unused free credits.
• If you later leave a paid plan, any unused free credits are still available after the paid grace period ends.

How AI Credits Work

Answerplz uses an AI Credit system so short, inexpensive answers use fewer credits than costly requests. Free accounts receive 60 credits each month. A subscription adds a larger recurring pool. Every time you ask a question, the underlying AI models consume a small amount.

We multiply the model cost by 1,000, apply the configured service margin, and round up to determine the credit charge. With the default 20% margin, a $0.0031 answer uses 4 credits. A typical screenshot answer uses about 5–6 credits.

Rollover Credits

To ensure you don't lose the value you pay for, Answerplz automatically rolls over 50% of your unused credits into your next billing cycle. This rollover is capped at an amount equal to your base plan's monthly limit (e.g., Starter plan users can accrue a maximum of 4,000 rollover credits).

Buying Extra Credits

Running low before your month resets? Active subscribers have the ability to instantly top-up their account from the Dashboard. You can purchase an extra 4,000 credits at any time.

Privacy & Security

Answerplz operates with strict privacy boundaries:

• Private Routing: Your desktop app never talks directly to the AI providers. All requests are routed securely through our backend servers.
• No Training: Your screen snippets, questions, and AI outputs are strictly used for your active session and are never used to train the underlying AI models.
• Token Revocation: If you lose a device, you can instantly revoke its desktop token from your Dashboard to cut off access immediately.
